Yes, thats plural. Its been an exciting two weeks! Milind has two new friends - Naina Ami Rele & Tanusha Annika Chandra. We can thank Amit & Anjali for the cutie thats Naina - born July 7th, 6:23 AM. Absolutely adorable, a perfect doll! Some important information about her, in case you want to research some before you meet her:Looks great in: Everything.Favorite hobby: Sleeping.Doesn't like: Being woken up.
She's getting cuter by the day - and she'll be two weeks old tomorrow! Hard to believe. The other debutante is Tanusha - born July 18th, 7:35 AM. The lovely 9lb daughter of a pleasantly surprised Chandra family, she has shown all signs of working hard to maintain her figure :) Meanwhile, mommy dearest seemed to have miraculously recovered & is eager to get her house back in order, plan the next playdate, fun evening for the girls..her list is endless. We managed to get a shot the new-and-improved Chandra family:
When we saw them, Akhil seemed quite oblivious to Tanu - he was quite happy with the "fishies" and some cars. It remains to be seen how he takes to her invading his room...Congrats to both sets of parents - couldn't be happier for them!
Obviously haven't met the once-a-week target, but still not giving up..July 4th in New Jersey. Fantastic weather. Great food at Chaachu's place - Biriyani, Fish Fry, Goan Shrimp curry, Palak Paneer..Yummy.But wait - there's a slide, swings, a sandbox, a trip to the beach, a jacuzzi full of bubbles and two cool didis!! Is this the perfect vacation or what?
It was pretty cool to see him jump into Chachu's arms with ease - like he's known him all his life. Jaydeep came to pick us up at the airport & next thing we knew, he was carrying Milind all over the airport, Milind all coy and hiding his face from Chachu, but firmly planted in Chachu's arms, nevertheless.
We've never seen Milind enjoy himself so much. He had two didis doting on him and a seemingly never-ending choice of toys. His favorite of the lot seemed to be the pink princess doll house & the cooking set :-O He'd go to bed after serving "capheee" and "chai" to everyone, smiling & babbling in bed about all the things he did that day. A stint in the Jacuzzi with lots of bubbles didn't hurt, either.
And after a day of playing hard, is there a more comfortable spot than Papa's shoulders? :)
All in all, a short but excellent trip. Looking forward to seeing the family again!
The morning started off "normal" enough, with a little more whining than usual. And poor Milind got a talking to for whining for no reason. We discovered soon enough that he had good reason - he couldn't put any weight on his left foot! :( Poor baby.I've never seen a toddler with a sprained ankle(yeah, yeah, he's my first baby..). He was confined to a couch all morning, reading with his teacher who has been babysitting him this week. Even car play was limited to the couch. He tried walking a couple of times and figured out soon enough that it hurt too much. Poor guy was then hobbling, crawling, dragging himself on his butt - whatever it took to get to his target of the moment.A visit to the doc's office confirmed no fractures, so possibly a sprain(phew!). 1 tsp of Motrin every 6-8 hrs, she said. And some ice-cream could never hurt :-) A not-so-fun day ended on a good note, with Papa & Milind eating ice-cream out of the back of the Outback.
