wikiHow - How to become a beach bum

December '08: Milind's first visit to a beach & he hated it. Hated the sand, the waves. Had a blast running around the promenade, but didn't want to go anywhere near the water.

Sighhh. Lets hope he loves reading then. Or maybe chess.

Fast forward to May '09: Mother's day weekend in the city with Sheshu & Sucheta. We somehow find ourselves at Crissy Field, where I'm already regretting bringing a stylish, but utterly useless jacket.
We expect to spend about 15 mins there & head to a nice warm pub, maybe? Sorry, Mama.

An hour later, Milind is so thoroughly immersed in the freezing waters of the pacific, all thats left on him is a T-shirt and his diaper. Lets not worry about Mama whose feet are numb by now, while Papa makes sure he gets some nice shots.

There's been no looking back after that. We've been at the beach for the last 3 weekends in a row! Two weekends(including Father's day!) at our new favorite spot - San Gregario beach.

And last weekend at Santa Cruz, with "Ajju" and Amit. Had a fantastic weekend, doing absolutely nothing. We had rented a house overlooking the beach(thanks to some dedicated research by Anjali) & spent saturday just lazing around. The boys grilled some delicious steak, while Milind figured out new ways to fall on perfectly flat surfaces. Spent Sunday morning at the beach, with Milind ending up getting hosed down at the end of it.

Milind fell asleep on his way back from Santa Cruz & finished his nap in bed. When he woke up, he looked around, very confused and screamed "Noooooo.....Beach!"

Just gettin' started

Its been 4 mos since we've been home with Milind & 7 mos since we've been together as a family(still can't believe it!). I realize that by blogging standards, starting a blog only now is just plain unacceptable. OK, fine - I'll take the blame for that. In my defense, though, who has time to blog when you're having so much fun??

My plan is to update the blog on a weekly basis - yes, a LOT happens in one week around here & you don't want to miss any of it. So stay tuned.
